There’s a zipper in the bottom part that essentially transforms that pocket into a luggage sleeve, allowing you to slide it over the handle of a rolling suitcase for easy transportation while traveling. If this is a factor you’re concerned with, go with either the canvas or nylon models.Īnother difference is that the nylon Brixton has a handy feature built into the back sleeve pocket. This is the sort of difference you can definitely feel when carrying a full bag for an extended period of time. The leather models, however, are a full pound heavier at 4.1 lbs. As such, the nylon and canvas versions are the lighter models, coming in at 3.1 lbs. Leather is a heavy material, and it definitely impacts the overall weight of the bag. These days, the camera bag business is thriving, aided in no small part by the booming popularity of mirrorless systems. So we end on a good note, I’ll hit up a few of the downfalls of the bag, then get to the good stuff, much of which I’ve already stated above.It’s a good time to be in the market for a camera bag. Throughout that time, a number of wonderful and quirky attributes stuck out to me. With the design and the materials covered, it’s onto the real-world observations of the bag and how it performed over the two weeks I’ve been using it.Īs previously mentioned, I spent two weeks carrying this bag around, from downtown Cincinnati to the small town of Marion, Indiana as I visited family. Naturally, the downfall of thicker padding is that it does minimize the usable internal volume slightly. The padding itself is a bit thicker and more protective than that of other bags I’ve reviewed and purchased in my admittedly short photography career (5 years and counting).
Like most camera bags, this padding is modular in design, assuring you can customize it to your heart’s content to fit your needs. It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that ONA decided to line the interior of the leather bag with a softer material for padding and protecting your gear when in transit.
